The Four “Clairs” of Psychic Ability

The Four “Clairs” of Psychic Ability

The four clairs refer to: clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance – the four main psychic abilities. Usually, an individual will be dominant in only one or two of these psychic modalities, but you can amplify any of them over time with a lot of focus and dedication to the practice. I will write a post about how to ‘exercise’ each of these modalities in a future post, but for today it is important to know what each of the four clairs mean.

The clair most people will recognise is ‘clairvoyance’, meaning ‘clear seeing’. Someone with clairvoyant abilities will be able to receive and see visions, either in their minds eye or through their physical eyes. These visions may allow the clairvoyant to see into the past – an example being that some clairvoyants have actually assisted with murder cases to find the body or the perpetrator, and also into the future – where clairvoyants such a the psychic twins have been able to predict world events such as 9/11 and natural disasters. Some clairvoyants also claim to be able to see spirits of those who have passed and communicate with them. Clairvoyance is the hardest clair to develop, as it is often a skill that an individual is born with. It is believed that every child is clairvoyant early on in their life, but only a few will continue the skill into adulthood.

The second clair, is clairaudience, or ‘clear hearing’. Clairaudience allows a person to hear spirits, and this can be used to pass messages on from the dead to the living, or simply to gain information. People with clairaudience are able to distinguish between what is their own mental chatter, and what they are receiving from outside influences. Clairaudience can be developed easily compared to clairvoyance, and this can be achieved through quietening the mind and paying attention to any messages that come through, as well as automatic writing and channelling.

The next, clairsentience, describes ‘clear sensing/feeling’, and is the ability to take on the energy and emotions of the people and environment around you. A lot of people have this skill and are not aware of it, and it is otherwise known as intuition. Sometimes, we get a sudden, unexplained uncomfortable feeling somewhere, and this could be our clairsentience working. Someone with strong clairsentient abilities can receive information about the past of a place to understand what it is that is making them feel uncomfortable. They can also channel the energy of the spirits that reside there. A clairsentient may be very negatively effected by the bad energy they sense, and so protect themselves using crystals, pendants and surrounding themselves in white light.

Finally, claircognizance, also known as ‘clear knowing’ describes the psychic ability in which a person is aware of things without ever having been told or informed previously. Information becomes available when it is needed, as though from nowhere. A lot of the time the information cannot be used for the greater good, it simply informs us of what will definitively happen in the future e.g. a natural disaster, with little detail as to where, when etc. This is another psychic modality that is particularly tricky for a person to develop, and out of the four it is probably the least discussed because it is the harder to understand.

Psychic ability is not well understood are accepted, yet there are many people who claim to have these talents, and not all of them are in the public eye and making these claims for money or fame. Apparently, anyone is able to engage with and develop their psychic ability – do you have any of the four clairs?

Law of Attraction: Money

Law of Attraction: Money

I have quoted in previous posts that if you can see it in your mind, you can see it in your life, or as W. Clement Stone articulates it better “whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve”. A lot of people have a negative relationship with money, money is a major stressor in most people’s lives, and we often worry that we do not have enough. Some even go as far as to say that money is the root of all evil. It is these very beliefs that make it difficult to acquire more money, and put you in financially difficult situations. As soon as you shed your negative views of money, you start to welcome it in abundance. To attract money, you have to stop focusing on the lack  – like attracts like, and lack attracts lack.

The book ‘The Secret’ talks about a number of techniques you can use to start focusing positively on money. One man would imagine that bills coming through his letterbox were in fact cheques, and on opening the bill would add an extra zero to the amount and pretend that he was receiving it. That way, he felt as though the money he was paying out was only small in significance to the amount he was ‘receiving’. Eventually he began to receive unexpected cheques in the mail, and although he still received bills – they were much less in comparison to the amount of money coming to him. Others, including Jim Carrey, write themselves a cheque for the amount of money they want, and look at it everyday, feeling as though it is already theirs – they are just waiting to cash it. The Secret website now has a feature where you can print off a  Law of Attraction blank cheque because this technique has proved so successful.  An important part of this technique is that you have to believe it – and this is the difficult part, but as soon as you get over that barrier, the money will flow to you. There is no need to worry about where this money will be manifested from – if you start thinking, “but it is impossible for me to receive that amount of money on my current income”, then you won’t receive it. There are many unsuspecting ways money can find its way to you, maybes you receive an inheritance, win the lottery, a new opportunity comes along with a substantial pay cheque. You have to be open to the numerous possibilities the Universe will present you with.

Giving is another powerful way of attracting more money to you. As soon as you start to give you are suggesting to the Universe – I have this money to give, and the Universe rewards you with more. If you say “I don’t have enough money to give”, then the Universe says, “your wish is my command”, and now you do not have enough money.  Giving should make you feel good, it should never feel like a sacrifice or be done begrudgingly, you need to emit thoughts of having plenty to give and being happy to do so. It sounds counter productive, giving away money in order to bring more into your life, but if you have faith and start to feel good about sharing money, you will be rewarded with more.

The key take away message in this post is to shift your feelings of negativity and lack towards money, and make it your intention to feel happy and grateful for the money you do have, and the money the Universe is going to give to you. Change your frequency to thoughts of wealth, and you will receive more.

Self Sabotage: Why the Law of Attraction Isn’t Working for You

Self Sabotage: Why the Law of Attraction Isn’t Working for You

“You cannot solve a problem in the same frequency in which it was created.”
― Lynn Grabhorn

  1. It is not enough to simply act through the law of attraction. You have to first align your mind, body and soul with your goal. You cannot receive what you want unless you are ready. You become ready when you have faith that the law of attraction is working in your favour – that every moment is bringing you one step closer to what you truly desire.
  2. You constantly focus on what your life is lacking. Yes, you want to manifest more money into your life, and so you put a request out to the universe. At the same time you persistently think about your lack of money, and how much happier you will be when the universe finally grants you your wish. We sometimes forget the meaning of the law of attraction, the idea that like attracts like. If you focus on the lack, you attract more lack. On the other hand, focus on the abundance you already have in your life, and attract more. It is the primary rule of the law of attraction but it is easy to lose sight of it when you begin manifesting and visualising.
  3. You are constantly waiting for what you asked for to arrive. Of course, the law of attraction requires visualisation, but this visualisation should not be constant – you’ve made your request, the universe has received it. Now you must focus on the present moment, express positivity and align your energy with the energy you want to receive. If you are constantly thinking about how what you have asked for is going to manifest itself, and worrying about it, then you are only going to push what you want further away.

Synchronicity

Synchronicity

“We often dream about people from whom we receive a letter by the next post. I have ascertained on several occasions that at the moment when the dream occurred the letter was already lying in the post-office of the addressee.”
― C.G. Jung

Synchronicity is something that everyone has likely experienced at some point in their lives – to some it happens on a regular basis. Most people would refer to such experiences as coincidences, and they are not wrong, but the difference is that a synchronic events are meaningful – i.e.  a series of apparent coincidences that seem to all be interconnected despite not occurring in the same way. The term was coined by the psychologist Carl G. Jung in the early 1900’s, and is defined as  “temporally coincident occurrences of acausal events.”.

A popular example used by Jung in his book illustrates how synchronicity works. Jung describes how a female patient of his re-accounted a dream in which she had been given a golden scarab (a piece of expensive jewellery). During her account, Jung became aware of a slight tapping on the window of his office, and seeing a fairly unusual and large insect, went over to open it. In his hand he caught a scarabaeid beetle – much like a golden scarab, and handed it to the woman saying “here is your scarab”. In this case, the scarab beetle was symbolic of what the female patient was experiencing in that period of her life, and to ensure she received the message she experienced the scarab beetle in multiple ways. We can then apply this to our own lives – have you ever had a dream only for an aspect of it to manifest itself within the coming days? Personally, and I’m sure many other people have experienced this as well,  I will suddenly have a thought of someone that pops into my head out of nowhere, or see someone in my dream, and even if I have not seen them for years I am sure to bump into them when I am out and about in the coming days.  You thought or dreamt of this person for a reason, and you then ran into this person for a reason – the Universe/higher self, whatever you want to call it or whatever it is to you, is trying to show you that this person is significant.

Another example of synchronicity is when you are looking for answers. You may feel stuck at a crossroads in your life, with countless possibilities but an uncertainty of which path is best suited for you. You may be daydreaming about your current life situation and suddenly become aware of a song playing that you have had stuck in your head all day. Then, later on you begin to read something that sticks with you, and matches the very same message the song was conveying to you. This is one of the many ways synchronicity works – repetitive signs that although different, carry the same message to answer your question. When this happens, don’t ignore it, listen to your signs and tap into your intuition.

Overall, paying attention to life’s synchronisations can be hugely beneficial to us – they indicate whether we should continue on the path we are on, or take a new direction. Each sign guides us, and the more we take notice the more signs, and thus guidance, we receive. Keep an open mind, take in your surroundings, and look for a deeper meaning in everything you do – you never know when a series of small events can have a profound impact on your life!

How to Use The Law of Attraction

How to Use The Law of Attraction

Everything in your life is created by you. The Universe pays attention to everything you think, feel, and act, and responds to you by making sure that everything you think about, you receive. This is why when we focus on the negatives in our life we attract more negative life experiences, but when we focus on the good, we get more of the same. Simply, you are the creator of your life, and the Universe acts to serve you. So with this in mind, how can we better use the Law of Attraction to get more of what we want, and less of what we don’t want?

Using the Law of Attraction is a three step process: Ask, believe, receive. First, you must let the Universe know what you want – you have to ask. Think it in your mind, say it out loud, or even better write it down. Think, speak, and write in the present tense: “I am grateful that I have…”. Remember that the Law of Attraction responds to our thoughts, so be clear and as specific as possible when putting out into the Universe what you want. You don’t have to keep asking, ask once and the Universe will hear you. The second step is to believe. You have to believe that what you want is already yours, and visualise what it would feel like to have it. If you have read my previous blog post on the Law of Attraction I write about how Jim Carrey used this technique in his use of the Law of Attraction – and it really works. This step requires a lot of faith – you have to believe that the Universe is busy at work getting you what to where you want to be, and you have to know that you are on your way. Once you believe it is already yours, you are putting yourself on the same frequency as what you have asked for, and this is what will bring it to you. The final step is to receive. This is the part of the process where you have to show gratitude for what you have, and feel gratitude for what you have asked for, even if it has not physically manifested yet. This puts you in the frequency of receiving.

Although not part of the three step process of the Law of Attraction, I think another important step in the Law of Attraction is to never use negatives when asking for what you want. Instead of saying “I don’t want to get ill” say “I want to be healthy”. Why is this so important? Because the Universe is a neutral force, it does not understand negations, and as you receive what you think about, even if you are asking not to get ill you are and manifesting illness into your life by thinking about it. Therefore you must always look from an optimistic viewpoint, and perhaps if you have found that the Law of Attraction has been somewhat unsuccessful for you, this may be a huge reason why.

I hope you have found this next instalment of the Law of Attraction series useful – I try to explain it in a simple way that everyone can understand, so if you are interested I recommend doing further research online, or even better, buying the book “The Secret”. Good luck!

Law Of Attraction: Explaining The Secret

Law Of Attraction: Explaining The Secret

I have always been interested in the Law of Attraction, watching countless Youtube videos and researching it online. It wasn’t until last week that I decided to order the book ‘The Secret’ – the book I had heard so many people who practised the Law of Attraction talk about, including Oprah Winfrey and Jim Carrey – and really start to understand what The Secret meant. I decided to make a series about the Law of Attraction on this blog, but for those of you who don’t know what it is, this post explains it all.

The main principal of the Law of Attraction is simply – ‘like attracts like’. What we think manifests in our lives, so if our thoughts are negative we will have negative life experiences, and vice versa. But this isn’t where it ends. You can actually use the Power of the Law of Attraction to manifest things into your life – more money, better health, happiness… Now lets get into the ‘science’ behind the Law of Attraction. We are all made of energy, everything around us is energy – we are a powerful magnet in the Universe and when we emit negative thoughts, we attract more of the same ‘like’ thoughts that are on the same same frequency as us. For instance, do you ever find that when one thing goes wrong in your day it seems to have a knock on effect on everything else? This is usually because you tend to dwell on that one negative experience and so you draw more towards you. Quantum Physicists tell us that the Universe in its entirety was all begun with a single thought – if life was thought into existence why can’t your life be thought into existence? Dr. Fred Alan Wolf, a Quantum Physicist, lecturer and award winning author puts it simply: “Quantum physics really begins to point to this discovery. It says that you can’t have a universe without a mind entering into it, and that the mind is actually shaping the very thing that is being perceived”.

“If you see it in your mind, you’re going to hold it in your hand”, Bob Proctor. The Law of Attraction is more than making yourself feel happier by thinking positive thoughts. You can actually use the Law Of Attraction to bring things into your life. In other words, your thoughts become things. For example, if you want to earn a certain amount of money, you need to visualise as though you already have it – how would you feel, what would you spend the money on – as a result you are constantly sending out this frequency and magnetic energy into the Universe, and you will attract things on the same frequency as you. In this case, the sum of money you want. As soon as you start feeling wealthy in every aspect of your life, you draw in more abundance and you are open to experiences that will give you this abundance. Your future thoughts are creating your future life.

Millions of people who use the Law Of Attraction have transformed their lives, but one of my favourites is actor and comedian, Jim Carrey, who speaks about the Law of Attraction publicly and is a huge advocate (check out his interview with Oprah on Youtube). Jim Carrey started his career as a struggling actor, with little money. He talks about how he would visualise abundance, having people he admired tell him they loved his work, and being respected in his profession. He wrote a cheque to himself for $10 million, and dated it for three years time. Three years later he made $10 million on his film dumb and dumber. He talks about how you create your own reality, if you can see it, you can have it, but more importantly, you have to believe it. Carrey used to tell himself, ‘its mine, I just don’t have a hold of it yet’. Carrey is a huge inspiration for me and one of the reasons I chose to buy “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne.

Its not just Jim Carrey and the general public who have used the Law of Attraction; prominent people in history, such as Edison, Einstein and Beethoven all understood it and used it to their advantage. Even if you are feeling somewhat sceptical – what do you have to lose? If you are unsure where to get started I recommend buying ‘The Secret’, doing further research online, and keeping up with my blog series.

Astral Projection

Astral Projection

Astral projection describes self-induced out-of-body experiences, in which the astral/spirit body is able to separate from the physical body, to go anywhere or do anything the person desires. Whilst there is no scientific evidence to support that Astral projection actually occurs or why it occurs, there are millions of people who report experiencing out of body experiences, particularly in life threatening situations. So is it that much of a stretch to believe that one of these experiences could occur at a persons will? I am slightly biased on this topic, because whilst I have not experienced it myself, my father has had an astral experience, (although didn’t get far – he was scared and returned back to his body), and my Uncle can put himself in a trance to astral project.  But first, lets look more closely at what astral projection really is.

During astral projection, the conscious mind leaves the physical body, with many reporting that they remain attached to their body with a single, silver cord, that acts almost like an umbilical cord and keeps you tethered so that you are always able to return to your body. Once you leave your body, you enter the spirit world, aka the astral plane. Once here you can travel anywhere in the world, and normal physical laws do not apply – you can do anything you want, with many people describing experiences of flying. Some people even claim that they can meet other people they know in this plane in the astral world, but personally I am sceptical of this, because this would mean astral projecting at the same time and then being able to find each other. Whilst I don’t believe this is completely impossible, I do think it is unlikely, as astral projection is not easily achieved for most people. I do believe however, that you can meet with deceased relatives and talk with them, as many people who have experienced astral projection cite this as being one of the most profound things to occur during projection.

I think there is no right way to induce astral projection, but I do think being in a relaxed, meditative state and finding higher consciousness is helpful, alongside being open minded and free of fear. Your spirit does not want to leave your body until it has too (death), and so there is no doubt that astral projection is not easy, and takes a lot of dedication and faith to achieve. There are multiple methods on the internet,  including imagining yourself floating up out of your body slowly, or grabbing onto an imaginary rope whilst lying down and pulling yourself up. These two methods are the most written about ones I can find, so perhaps there is some truth behind them.

There is debate over whether astral projection is dangerous, with particularly the Roman Catholic faith suggesting that astral projection leaves you vulnerable to demons entering your vacant body or approaching you on the astral plane. Other people fear that if you are to travel to far from your physical body, the cord can be severed and your spirit is lost forever and unable to return to your body – as a result your physical body dies. On the other hand, some people believe that astral projection is just a higher level of dreaming, a step up from lucid dreaming, and is perfectly safe. Some also believe that the cord is unbreakable, and will always keep you tethered to your body until you die and your spirit permanently leaves your body. Do you believe in astral projection? Have you ever projected yourself?
